"For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold
that you were redeemed... but with the precious blood of Christ,
a lamb without blemish or defect."
1 Peter 1:18-19
Salvation is not the end of the story - it's the beginning of a journey, and it's
a journey Jesus wants you to go on with Him. But there was a price no one could
ever afford. Picture a ticket to a place so far away - a planet a trillion miles
beyond our reach - that no amount of silver or gold could ever buy passage there.
Jesus bought that ticket for you. He paid the full fare with His own redeeming
blood. And here is the wonder of it: the ticket alone won't get you there, and your
own effort never could. The only way to make the journey is with the ticket
and with Him - walking beside the One who paid for it.
So this journey was never really about us. It's about serving Him, walking with Him,
and living for the One who loved us enough to pay a price we could never repay.
He doesn't just send us on the way - He is the Way, and He goes with us
every step.
This is what the journey is truly about. Just as we are saved by grace and not by
works, we were saved for a purpose - to walk in the good works God himself
prepared for us before we were ever born. The journey is God's design, not ours:
"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Ephesians 2:10
